Attention New Members - Getting Started

Hello and welcome to Vigilantes! If you have got this far then you already been granted access to our forums so the first hurdle is over. Smiling

So, how do you sign up to guild events/raids?

Whether it be raids or other guild related events there are a few steps that need to happen before you will be able to sign up to these events. Our website is linked to the WoW Armory and periodically it will update the guild roster with any new characters that have joined. This is automatic but may take a day or two.

The next step is a manual step and should be initiated by you. You must 'claim' your character(s) from the list of characters listed on the Guild Roster. Any characters claimed by you are then associated with your Vigilantes website user account.

If there are any problems just contact an officer. In the mean time if you want to sign up to an event just leave a comment on the event page you are interested in. For example, “Stevoz, Paladin, signing up as Tank for this raid".

A few other things you might need to know

Right, so now you know how to sign up for raids, that's great, but there are a few other things to be aware of Smiling

1. If you have been invited as a raider you will have been given the rank 'Raider'. Non raiders, i.e. social members, are given the rank 'Member'. During the first few raids with us we will be looking at how you fit into the team, and this will of course include a performance review. Of course you will also be looking at us to see if your newly chosen guild is the new home you hoped it would be. If there are any concerns/issues/questions then please feel free to ask an officer.

2. When signing up to events please pay particular attention to any requests made as part of the event. If it is an official raid then do your best to familiarise yourself with the general mechanics and likely strategies that might be used. i.e. use sources such as the dungeon journal, wowhead, fatboss video guides.

3. You may want to get to know a bit more about some of your new guildies and also let us know a bit about you in our Better Know a Guildie thread.

4. The guild bank is available for your use. Some tabs are restricted but materials may be claimed by making a post in the Guild Bank - Claim Thread

5. If you are going to be away from WoW for any period of time (holidays/vacation etc), please let us know as much in advance as possible, in the Vacation thread.

6. Other threads that you should take note of...

Guild rules
Raid addon requirements <- make sure to have it installed before your 1st raid
Raid Status Ledger

7. For official guild raids we will make use of our Mumble server. You may also make use of it outside of raid times too. A client can be downloaded here. Please ensure it is installed and working prior to raid start time. Mumble server details: mumble.vigilantes-guild.com. This information can also be found ingame on the guild info page.

Once again welcome to Vigilantes. We hope you enjoy your time here.

Best Regards, Vigilantes
