I'm not planning to play Aion really, but have been interested in what it exactly was and why so many people were talking about it. Gonna download it now though just to see if it's any good ^^

i played on the Chinese servers, was a good game, with some nice graphics, but seemed to lack pve content, was more of a pvp game.
anyway wasn't exactly what i was expecting so i most likely wont play the european version

About the same.
Awesome graphics and astonding OST, and a kick ass char customization that WoW deffinately should have. Imo tho.. it's like a mix of WoW and Lineage but with wings.
But still, it's not yet the one that distracts me as much as WoW does. Is one of those games to play like an hour or two.
The more I get to know people.. the more I love animals.

No idea.
But I know some servers have 2+ hour queues to get on, and lag and random disconnects are pretty common at this stage.
It looks nice; the character customisation is amazing and you can make your char look totally freaky. But the RNG is still there, more gold to repair, lose XP on death, no spammable abilites - everything has a CD, etc.
Either way, I doubt it'll replace WoW, but may be a nice distraction for some people.

Actually.. NCSoft did it perfectly.
On the early launchnight which was sunday the week before this one, people where online and stayed online @ 21:02. Which was exactly 2 minutes past gamelaunch.
The queue's are a bitch though, they've tried to fix it by changing ingame stuff. They don't want to create to many servers to make sure servers stay populated. It's a delicate process between queue's and to low populated (and thus bored people) in the future.
It was the best MMO launch I've seen.

its still the same, I play on the most populated French server and i have betwen 2 and 3 hours queue
go figure why i'm stuck on lvl 14
classes really look the same as WoW except for that monk-buffer-dude (chanter), an hybrid I took (yes, I have learnt nothing in 5 years of WoW about hybrids and endgame, whatever)
I really didn't get the hook on the first couple of days, but now I admit i'm getting more and more into it. I like the use of combos into the gameplaye.
Crafting looks promising as well. However nothing at all revolutionary.
And I have to admit, the visual design rox if you are into this kind of things (big gothic cities, angel wings in your back and armor bigger than you)

Dur, with all due respect, that 'balancing act' is bullshit. They don't want to invest in hardware that may be unneeded if the game is unpopular, that is all.

anyway this will be "fixed" in 3 weeks when the free month is over and several ppl don't keep their sub up I guess,
Early launch was for ppl with collector edition only, normal launch was last friday and it was a total mess. On sunday I just couldn't even connect the whole day. Instead of a login queue I had a message simply saying that there was too many ppl to log on.
They also didn't fix much ingame stuff as its still possible to stay afk forever in game. They opened up several new servers but afaik its still impossible to change servers
