I have never played the diablo games so I have a few questions that I would love some answers to :
1) Is this game online or a game you play yourself?
2) If it is online also, is it free (like how WoW is not)?
3) Is it a multiplayer game as in can I play with a person next to me on the same screen etc.
4) Is it anything like wow?

crafting as such might not exist but in Diablo II you could collect "runes" to make special items with it, however everyone could do this so it wasn't really a profession. You also ahd a horadric cube which allowed you to trasnmute certain items into others.
The gameplay is not like wow at all; it's a hack&salsh game which means it's 1 player vs a few dozen mobs all the time (as seen in the gameplay vid). if it's anything like DII you're gonna be so so addicted.
Agreed, though there will be two AHs, one normal and one with real money so you can choose witch you want to use.
The only thing that could be possitive is that blizz will take a small % fee from each sold acoution that then hopfully goes back into improving the game.
A man is but the product of his thoughts.

Ugh i dont like that idea at all........ And even though your thoughts are well ment ompi, i just dont belive that its gonna bennefit the game in any way I mean it already costs 150kr to transfer a char which is driven by an automated script...
But i still have high hopes for the game, hope we can all gather on battlenet and do some slash'n'hacking
It already exists in Eve, working nice, altho it's a whole different gameplay
(you can get ingame money for real money. you can also pay your monthly sub with ingame money)
I can see terrible results with DIII and WoW tho...
I don't know if I like it or hate it. More money for Blizzard of course so why would they not, especially after they joined with Activision . I doubt they would ever do it for WoW as it's a huge thing and as Nyxxi pointed out it's already subscription based unlike Diablo.
You have to pay a fee to put the item out on the AH whether it sells or not just like now in WoW, but with real currency instead, don't really like that.

Its alot diffrent in eve though, not a AH with real money, but your selling plex, which can be bought in your account area. And that basicly minimizes goldsellers since they do it them selfs
Personally i find that really good, you get some isk, someone else gets 30 days worth of gametime
You don't have to use real money. You can still buy and sell things for in-game coin. You just choose which currency you want to use.
Of course that item that you really really want will always be for sale on the other currency though.
I'm gonna be rich.

1998 Blizzard has little to nothing to see with 2010 Blizzard,
I'm expecting Diablo 3 to feel the main-stream bat as hard as WoW tbh
aw but it's worse than I thought,
you'll actually be able to buy *any kind of game item* ! I thought it'd be only goodies !
Hell I'm not going to bother buying the game anymore if any kid can get better stuff than me just using his parents moneybag. dang !
I also love the part where Blizz states that they introduce this to fight against gold farming.
Grrrrr
I dont think you really get what the AH system is. In D1 and alot more so in D2, players could already buy gold/items from verious game sites for RL cash from other players. All Blizz are doing is putting a much safer system in the game to do this exact same thing (and making a bit of money on the side themselves).
This wont be like other in game paying games where you buy "upgrades" from the game maker and get a big bonus over players who do not. This AH will only sell gold and items that have droped from other players, exactly like you could in D1/D2.
So bottom line (so long as Blizz dont start selling their own items), this is no different than the previous 2 games other than being easyer/safer to access and if people are gonna get all emo over it, more the fool you.

As long as it doesn't get too essential to the core game of wow, I don't care
What worries me is that one day we will have to spend real money on gear to stay competitive as raiders and that is the day progression raiding dies. Right now there are maybe 10 guilds on doomhammer that raid seriously, that would drop fast if only the rich could afford to progress.
What sent said, i don't think it will ever come to that.
Tbh, personally i couldn't care less that games add things that cost "extra" real money, as long as its only things you can obtain in other ways or cosmetic stuff. If someone wants to spend 200euro for some pets or to color their armor pink, fine. But if someone spends 200euro on a new, top of the line, only obtainable thru real money weapon. Then i would be throwing the game out the window.
I think the majority of games have the same opinion on the matter.
So with the D3 ah im not to concerned that it will cause any real problems as the items sold/bought there for real money are only items that someone looted within the game. Not the game selling stuff but the game taking a profit from gamers trading. And your not forced to spend real money on things you buy on ah.
A man is but the product of his thoughts.
What he thinks, he becomes.
I think for me personally it'll end up like D2:LoD. Playing only with the gear you find yourself.
Myrah, me and a few other friends played pure hardcore mode back then and we only used gear we found among ourselves, restricting trade to people in our small group of people (about 5-8 ppl). It was the only way to be sure the items weren't "duped" and to keep some form of accomplshment.
And since we managed to get lvl 80+ characters in all classes in hardcore it shows you don't need the very best in every slot (besides we lost our stuff from time to time when one of them died unfortunately).
PS i'll be happy with a big account wide stash, It sucked having to swap gear around between 15 bank characters

it's a hack and slash, you are basically surounded by dozens of mobs,
you can play it offline but it's always more fun online playing with ppl, the most ppl in a party, the more the mobs/bosses are hard, you also get more experience so yu can level further,
the goal of the game is basically to get the best items for your char, the drops are much more random, but you can get any piece of loot alone, no need to be 25
it can be compared to WoW except that its much much more nervous, its all about killing dozens and dozens of mobs and bosses, so the gameplay is way faster (there's nothing as global cd, you can chain your spell as fast as you smash your mouse)
the online mod is usually free, even if there's a high probability they'll propose some paying options, but nothing compared to wow (rather hellgate at worst)
