Dual Boxing, how?

Hi all,

since there's a few people multiboxing I would like to benefit from your knowledge. For the background, when WOTLK hits I want to use my friends shaman as healbot, to run with my warrior for easier questing, dropping me a heal and totems here and there.
I have 1 PC, mouse and keyboard, 2 screens.

what do I need to do? =)

my self i dont multi box but from what i gather u need all the charaxters of at least the same class, so as u cast one spell your (clones) cast the same one on the same target.

So running with a shaman and a warrior will not multi box m8

I two box with one PC and one screen. It is tricky if you have two active characters (rather than a high level healbot). The simpliest way I found was to put the bot on follow, set the target to the main character, and then alt tab now and then for healing.

The best healbot is a priest since they have HOTs and can resurrect without a timer. Pallies are also good but then you are best with the pally in the group and the lowbie on follow. The pally then just charges around and AOE tanks all the mobs in an area.

If the shammy is the same level as you then I think you're just end up switching back to the shammy to start a big heal (or chain heal) then switch back. Hot key the top three or four totems (WF, healing stream, strength and fire nova for example) and not bother too much about the rest since I think you're find it too time consuming.

If you are both doing the quests then collect quests are painful, since you have to switch back and forth all the time to loot. This tends to break follow and even with a macro its a pain.

Two boxing for easy quests is often more work than its worth but for some quests like kill and escort quests it works really well. The other time is for the 2 and 3 person group quests, since do don't have to worry about finding a PUG for them.
