Well seeing as he said it costs over $1k to set it all up, I don't think i'll be trying this anytime soon. I'll use my ps3's MIDI Sequencer and try it thru GH World tour. Won't sound like the actual song (as you cant import music just the notes using Guitar Pro) but it will be the same notes.
isnt there any way to import the midi sequence, and then have the song play over the top? or can the game not do that i've been thinking of buying wolrd tour for a while

Personally, I'm not big on drum solos, I prefer if they show their creativity within normal songs. From that perspective, I really like Keith Moon (of the Who, which is also my favorite rock band).
I'm not a fan of drum solos per se - the majority of "heavy metal" technical stylings leave me cold (no emotion); most drummers I like because they have an amazing feel (Billy Cobham - Jazz drummers are the best to listen to), or choose the more interesting timings where lesser drummers would stick to a dull 4/4.
Keith Moon had a great percussive/melodic style - one of the best rock n roll drummers (and booze drinkers!)
Check out some Terry Bozzio or Bill Bruford drumming as they both show real intelligence and passion without the whole showmanship ego thing that normally surrounds rock or its silly offshoots.

When you see a kid like that, you get 2 scenarios in your mind:
1. Linear extrapolation: 'if he is like this at age 8, imagine is he going to be able do when he is 20 or 40?!'
2. Crash and burn: 'This is unnatural. He will go off the rails either because of the attention or the pressure of great expectations.'
Let's hope for the 1st.
Quite old-skool, right? Just read the description, though, and yes, that is 256 bytes, not mega bytes, not kilo bytes, just plain 256 bytes, for both the program itself and any data it needs, and no library or dll or hardware 3d or anything else.

I absolutely love that music, its got a tinge of Nightwish instrumental style at some times and then Daft punk at others, absolutely brilliant

must of taken a massive amount of time and effort, especially when you think that they haven't tampered with the colouring of the images, so they had to get the right images for the right parts. And the outlines of the characters don't stop at the squares either, they've used the actual outlines of the objects and people in the photos for the characters in the wallpaper xD (such as a girl in a white T-shirt being used as the sky in the background while the green wallpaper behind her used for the tip of thrall's ear xD)

Okies, some classics from old timers for you young huns...
Neil Peart (of Rush). Drum solo starts at around 3:30:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sa0C5Uxpd3c&feature=related
Carl Palmer (of Emerson Lake & Palmer) solo. I think he has a gnome hooker hidden under the kit, at 1:45 she gets frisky:

Nice choice of drummers, Bera!
Peart is probably the top 3 rock drummers of all time, and quite overlooked except by musicians and drummers themselves. Palmer was good, too.
Personally, Terry Bozzio is my favourite rock drumming for his early stuff with Zappa (genius).
Best drummer ever? Billy Cobham (Mahavishnu Orchestra/Miles Davis); not technically the best, but an amazing style and feel!
Tatsuya Yoshida of Ruins is pretty great too, and hardly heard of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vp5XqUxxe94 (crazy video of him playing live)
