Rift The Planes of Telara
So this game called Rift is fast approaching its release date. March 4 to be exact. I know many people have show interest in the game so i made a proper topic for the game. So my question is. Who is going to play it when it goes live. When we have many people then its better to be on the same server when it goes live. Me, Alarich and Blynket are currently testing the game in the BETA and it seems great fun. Steampike is the server and when the server names stay the same then we will go on the same named server. Its basically WoW 2.0 Same mechanics but improved upon. Only downside is that it requires a more powerful PC than WoW because it is more "real" looking and it doesnt have that cartoonish look WoW has. So i say post in this topic and if you are currently playing the BETA and noone knows then be heard.

I have been messing around on the beta abit, got a bard to lvl 22. Cant remember the name of the server but its not the same as you i think

It's hardly 2.0. Yes, it's a nice breath of fresh air, but it really doesn't bring anything new to the table.
Oh, and it only requires a more powerful PC to run if you want to play it with the best graphics. My PC is terrible, but it's still easily playable with 30+FPS if you change the settings around. Although I didn't noticee how much I really miss when playing it on low graphics, until I saw some friend's SS

I've been playing beta to lvl 10 or something. It's a fun game, especially the rifts. But I don't think I'll play it much, got enough to do.

Have played it quite abit and really like it.
Not sure how end game will be last game I tried AoC failed badly at it.
Rogue lv 22.
1:st Marksman, Hunter almost like MM spec
2:nd Riftstalker, Rogues tank spec abit like the druids bear from.
3:rd Bard, Buffing support.
4:th (not that rich)
Love it.
Gotten the collectors addition so the 24:th I start on a mount with a huge backpack with a rogue.
Will be starting on the Icewatch server with some friends.

ive tryed it before, didnt like it, but after i got bored and didnt have something to do and started to play it again after long time now i start to find it fun xD
i got an necromancer combined with warlock and a support class cant remember the name its something with archoen or something that and epic mix so imba XD

Well Zaztuk it depends on which side are you playing on? Defiants or Guardian. On Guardian i have a Char called Vikerkaar, Blynket has Fifi and Alarich has Tibi. On the Defiant side we have Vanapagan, Alarich and Secelia.
Also when the servers go live and people will be start playing it and i presume most will go on a PVE server then please lets all go on the same server. It would be silly to be all scattered around different servers....

according to local retailers the game is only releasing 4th of March, whereas you guys said it was coming 24th of February. On Rift Website theres also an estimated release date in March.
Guardians vs Defiants, will that be like the Alliance vs Horde?, if so the Defiance will prolly be more evil and cooler to play as outcasts, while all the young nublets wanting to feel safe and secure will be playing Guardians ( and ownable in PvP)
I will probably buy the game and a prepaid playing card, would love to hang out with you guys while doing so. When there is a definite server/faction let me know here

The 24th of February is the "Head Start" for people who pre-order.
And my main will be a Cleric (Sentinel - Warden - Purifier) and alt not sure of yet
Oh and not sure about the PvP side. We owned the Defiants pretty much every time in PvP on our Guardians.

Main Rogue 1:st role Marksman ranged DPS, 2:nd role Riftblade Tank and 3:rd role Bard Support.
Alts will be a warrior a mage and a clerec specs totaly unintresting rather crafting alts to start with.

Having played both sides i must say that the Guardian zones are much better. Not so bland, Dungeons have a proper story and voice acting and already the very first zone on the Guardian side has 2 Porticulums ( Fast travel system ) While Defiant sides areas are basically open areas, almost no story in the dungeons and fast travel system is widely spread... AND in the BETA atleast the Defiants SUCK at PvP. We did the first BG called The Black Garden and out 10 matched maybe we lost 1 and all other matches won with a score 500 to 4 or 500 to 6 so basically decimated the other side! The in god we trust thing put me off aswell and i was abit hesitant to try out the guardians but when i did it wasnt as bad as i thought. You can completely ignore the God stuff tbh.

seems the prerelease is 24th of Feb, and the actual release is 4th of March
sucks you have to have a credit card to order the game online, Ill buy it in the shops and get a prepaid card, looks like a lot of fun.

There is a debate on which date the game is released so to make things clear.
*The game will be released in North America March 1st
*The game will be released in Europe March 4th
*If you have preordered the game you will receive a "head start" code which will let you start playing on February 24th

Since the russians decided to invade Icewatch we have started on Steampike aswell Defiant still.
Kjyed lv 12 rogue Marksman.
We where amung the first to log in luckely couse I heared of ques over 2 hours long for those that waiting abit before logging on.
It was laggy like a bad nite on WoW with very delayed castings up to 1-2 secs at times but mostly is was steady and good below 50ms pings.
Loads and loads of players struggeling to get the kills on the mobs that spawned quests took over 5 times as long to compleate becouse of the competition getting the kills.
Even with the large que and the lag I would say a really good start on a MMO amung the better Ive seen.
Was fun comeing out of the first starting zone and entering the first place where you should do quests and instead of seeing 5-10 mobs you need to kill see sevral hundreds of players running around like headless chickens.
