I have to agree with Dur in that people do not need to be negative. In fact Vigis have always remained calm and pleasant towards those leaving for whatever reasons. Which is why Vigilantes is so highly thought of and it also saddens me to see this sort of negativity, when it comes from an officer of the guild (i.e. Thought).

I know there have been many changes in the officers' ranks but I would beseech you to uphold the finest tradition set by your predecessors

I think you will find Thoughts comments are born from the frustration and the dissapointment of losing a person who only a few weeks ago signed a declaration of intent to support the progress team. Nobody forced him to sign up, it was his choice. We gave him a spot, geared him up, and now he deserts us, leaving a hole in the team. We now have to spend time and energy trying to find a replacement and in all likelyhood have the people he considers his friends (or is that considered, Im not sure which) spend time gearing up that new person. This situation should not have arisen.

I have no doubt Deamon did NOT plan this and I have no issue with Deamon changing guilds, but what I personally object to is the timing of it. The time to change guilds was 2 months ago. Deamon should have spent a little more time thinking through the choices we gave him at the beginning of WLK. Personally I thought long and hard about what I could comit to and in the end made a decision. I will now stick to that decision and see it through to the end (the end being the demise of the Lich King I presume!).

Whilst many of you love the concept of freedom of choice there does seem to be something sadly lacking in the 'A' typical gamer, and that would be loyalty and the willingness to follow through on a plan/comittment. And I will say it again... a comittment not forced on anyone, everyone had a choice. Of course its not always easy, and there are times when youd rather be doing something else, or there is some annoying council member, or ex GM trying to make you do something you dont feel like doing, but thats all part of the game, you take the rough with the smooth.

Fortunately for Vigilantes we are blessed with having some good people in the team so I dont doubt we will survive, its just annoying to now have to go through the process of finding a replacement.

This is not meant to be an attack on Deamon personally, he supported the guild well for a long time, it's just a shame he couldn't have made the decision earlier and let us find someone who really was up for the challenges we as a guild want to face. The same applys to anyone else who has left since signing up for a Progress spot. Ofc sometimes there are genuine real life problems that one can not predict and I doubt anyone, including me, would have an issue with dropping out because of this. Shit happens sometimes.

My final thought is to anyone else thinking about leaving. Have the decency to do it now so we may look for people who are really up for the challenges we face, and are willing to see it through to the end.
