Quick Fight Notes

  • 2 tanks needed to split Blood Mirror, one keeping threat, the other just standing next to the MT
  • Ranged and healers spread around the room, but leaving the middle area free
  • When targeted by Pact of the darkfallen move to the middle area, wait for everyone else to arrive and leave once the link is broken
  • When targeted by Swarming Shadows move to the sides of the room, away from other people, and lay a path of shadow patches at the edges
  • After a minute into the fight, the boss will cast a big AoE fear after which everyone has to spread out to reduce damage incoming from the Bloodbolt Whirl which damages you and people around you
  • At the start of the fight, the boss will bite someone, granting them Essence of the Blood Queen
  • The person with the Essence does more damage and has to bite someone (your action bars will change with on hotkey 1 the bite) within 10 seconds after the debuff ends
  • You will get notified who everyone has to bite, but the person who gets bitten has to move to the biter
  • When failed to bite, you'll get MC'd until killed. This usually means a wipe due to a loss of an Essence and personal Dps.


    Brief Tactic


    This boss is a pure Dps race while surviving different AoE abilities. With Pact of the Darkfallen, you hug the middle and wait for the link to break before you run back and continue Dps/healing. With Swarming Shadows, you move to the edge of the room and run along the wall while you drop shadow flames on the ground. The Dps requirements are too high to ignore the Essence of the Blood Queen you will get and spread it around the raid. We will use an addon to assign people who to bite. The people in question will get notified and the bitten person has to move to the biter, letting them enjoy their 100% more damage done buff. Heroism will be used ~30-40% when most of the raid (16/25) have the essence of the blood queen debuff and we burn down the boss.

    After 60 seconds into the fight, the boss will fly up and fear everyone in the room. You have split seconds to spread out from anyone near you to prevent dying. Priests will cast Fear Ward on themselves and use Mass Dispell to free people early from the AoE fear, granting more time to spread out. When spread out you are free to continue Dps. This same fear will happen once more later on in the fight.


    Heroic Ability's


    Exact same deal as the normal version apart from "everything more". Boss has more health, does more damage, including all spells and abilities. Dps requirement is higher. Reduce the damage taken as much as possible, getting unneeded damage will likely 1 shot you. Spread out in the air phase or you won't survive.


    Known Wipe Reasons

  • Lack of Dps due random deaths from several reasons described below
  • People with Pact of the Darkfallen moving away from the center too early. Make sure it's gone before you more
  • People not moving with Swarming Shadows, leaving about 10 shadow flames in 1 spot (each of the flames spawned will deal ~3k damage) meaning anyone moving in it (or feared in) to die in a second
  • Failing to bite someone when Essence of the Blood Queen runs out. Losing the person from the fight, allowing the same person to kill others and losing an Essence which are needed to make the enrage timer.

    Ability's Blood Queen Lana'thel

  • Vampiric Bite - Deals 13875 to 16125 damage to the target, granting them Essence of the Blood Queen.
  • Essence of the Blood Queen - Damage done increased by 100%. Attacks heal recipient [speculative 10-15%]. Attacks cause no threat. At the end of the duration, target gains Frenzied Bloodthirst.
  • Frenzied Bloodthirst - The caster must satiate their need for blood(bite a player), otherwise they will become Mind controlled.
  • Uncontrollable Frenzy - Mind Controlled. Increases damage done by 100%. Health increased by 300%. Increases healing done by 1000%.
  • Blood Mirror - 100% of damage done to you is dealt to the linked source as shadow damage. Linked source will be whomever is closest to you upon application of Blood Mirror.
  • Delirious Slash - Inflicts 50% of weapon damage to an enemy and causes it to bleed for 5,250 to 6,750 damage per application every 3sec for 15sec.
  • Pact of the Darkfallen - Deals growing Shadow damage to you and 2 other non-linked allies. This effect expires when all linked targets are within 5 yards of each other. DOES DAMAGE TO OTHERS IN A CLOSE RADIUS
  • Swarming Shadows - Swarming shadows inflict 2775 to 3225 damage every 1 sec for 6sec. Spawns fire under your feet.
  • Twilight Bloodbolt - Hurls a bolt of dark blood at the target, dealing damage to the target and surrounding allies within 6 yards.
  • Bloodbolt Whirl - Summons a maelstrom of whirling bloodbolts for 6sec.
  • Twilight Bloodbolt - Hurls a bolt of dark blood at the target, dealing damage to the target and surrounding allies within 6 yards.
  • Shroud of Sorrow - An aura of sorrow and despair emanates from the caster, inflicting Shadow damage every 2 sec. Unavoidable
