Quick Fight Notes

  • Cannons have to win this fight. They are the only things that damage the enemy ship
  • Nuke the Mages as soon as they spawn
  • While on the enemy ship and no mage, aim for the goblins in the back of the ship, if they're dead, the axethrowers
  • All horde enemies will get promoted when they live too long. This promotion increases their damage, health and haste. Don't let them live for too long!


    Brief Tactic


    This is probably one of the easiest encounter of the instance. The melee Dps enters the cannons to control them. The cannons which have to destroy the enemy ship will be frozen every now and then. This is done by a horde mage on the enemy ship. This mage has to die to free the cannons and thus continue the destroying of the horde ship. To do this effectively, the tank jumps over as soon as the mage spawns on the back of the horde ship, followed by the ranged Dps jump over to kill the mage. The tank has to pick up the captain of the enemy ship, Saurfang. The other tank will stay on the friendly ship to tank mobs which spawn from a warlock portal on our own ship. These mobs will be killed by both the melee (when cannons are frozen) and any free dps. The boss on the enemy ship will stack a buff and deals more damage every time he hits a player. Leave the boss alone or kite him to reset the stack. Make sure he doesn't hit you. This buff fades over time, not when the boss resets to his original position.


    Heroic Ability's


    This is the easiest heroic boss there is. The hardest part of this encounter is not to lag. The enemy ship has more health and all horde enemies have more health and do more damage. The horde should die fast enough to not let them stack the promotion buff. Other than these changes are the rockets which the goblins shoot from the back of the enemy ship. These rockets will knock you back and might knock you off your ship. Don't get him by them to find out the hard way.


    Known Wipe Reasons

  • People not jumping over at the right time. Saurfang's buff has to fade over time, don't jump to the enemy ship if you're not certain if it's safe to jump
  • Adds being killed too slow and thus stacking promotion buffs
  • Lag...

  • Cannon Blast - Launches a cannonball at the target. Inflicts 1000 Siege damage and generates 6 to 10 Heat. Instant
  • Incinerating Blast - Consumes all of the cannon's Heat to launch a massive ball of fire at the target. Inflicts 1000 Siege damage plus additional damage per point of Heat. Instant

  • Cleave - Melee range — Inflicts 120% of normal melee damage to an enemy and its nearest allies, affecting up to 3 targets. Instant (6 sec cooldown)

    Kor'kron Sergeant

  • Bladestorm - Instantly Whirlwind up to 4 nearby targets and for the next 6 sec you will perform a whirlwind attack every 1.0 sec. While under the effects of Bladestorm, you can move but cannot perform any other abilities but you do not feel pity or remorse or fear and you cannot be stopped unless killed. Instant (7 sec cooldown)
  • Wounding Strike - Melee range — Inflicts 200% weapon damage and leaves the target wounded, reducing the effectiveness of any healing by 25% for 10 sec. Instant. -40% healing in 25-player mode.
  • Desperate Resolve - Increases armor and attack speed by 60%. Instant. +120% Armor in 25-player mode
  • Experienced - Damage done increased by 30%. Attack and casting speeds increased by 20%. Instant

    Kor'kron Rocketeer

  • Rocket Artillery - Launches a rocket that explodes on impact, inflicting Fire damage to nearby enemies and Siege damage to the enemy gunship. 5 sec cast
    • Explosion - The rocket explodes, inflicting 6300 to 7700 Fire damage to nearby enemies and Siege damage to the enemy gunship. Instant
  • Experienced - Damage done increased by 30%. Attack and casting speeds increased by 20%. Instant

    As far as i can figure from the movie and ability's. we will be trying to take over an air ship. By killing the npcs on it, listed above in the ability's section. Exactly how is unclear yet but it looks like a fun fight :)

    "Strategy

    To start off, before starting the event everyone should talk to the Goblin and get their jetpack. It is a shirt slot item that has an on use ability that will launch you into the air. Everyone should place it somewhere on their hotbar for easy use during the encounter.

    Once everyone is ready 3-4 people should be selected to man the cannons. The cannons are how you win the battle. There are 2 cannon abilities and a resource: heat. The first ability is Cannon Blast which deals 1k damage to the enemy ship and builds 6-10 heat. The second ability is Incinerating Blast which deals 1k damage plus additional Fire damage for each unit of heat. Heat scales from 0-100, however if the heat level actually reaches 100 the cannon will overheat and shut down for 5 seconds not allowing you to fire, so it is best to use Incinerating heat at 90+ to avoid overheating.

    The tanks will have 2 jobs, tanking the enemy Captain and tanking the mobs coming through the portal over the deck of our ship.

    The enemy Captain has a stacking buff called Battle Fury that stacks each time he hits the tank, increasing his damage by ~5% for 20 seconds. For that reason the tank on the Captain should be a high avoidance tank. If the stacks start getting too high and the tank is taking too much damage, everyone must leave the enemy ship for ~20 seconds to let the stacks drop off. DPS should ignore the enemy captain (some guilds on the PTR have even reported trying to take him down and him enraging and wiping the raid when he got low on health).

    The tank picking up the invading mobs must simply keep them grouped up to be DPS'd down.

    DPS is also split into two groups, one to defend and one to attack.

    The defending group should be ranged dps, both because of the Sergeants Whirlwind ability and because they can dps the Rifleman across the gap when things are slow.

    The attacking group must work on killing off the Rifleman and Rocketeers asap, in order. The stacking experience buff makes them stronger as time goes on so new spawns should be ignored in favor of finishing off older mobs.

    It is possible to heal the tank on the enemy ship from the home ship if the tank pulls the Captain close to the edge. However, the healer, along with everyone on the home ship, needs to careful to avoid the rockets. Their landing spot is marked by a flashing yellowish mark on the ground. They tank anywhere from 4-6 seconds to reach their target so there is more than enough time to avoid them.

    Every 25% a Battle-Mage will walk to the center of the enemy ship and channel Below Zero which freezes out the cannons making them unusable. All units on the enemy ship should switch to the Battle-Mage, as well as the people who were in the cannons to burn it down as quickly as possible. Once it is down the cannoneers return to burning down the ship and the dps returns to killing Rifleman and Rocketeers.

    That is it, just rinse and repeat until the enemy ship is down."

    On 10man as soon as they spawn they were on around 40% health for a few secs and then went back upto full. So na range can't take any credit lol. Might have been a bug though.
