http://vigilantes.zind.net/forum/%5Bmage%5D-preparing-illidari-council
We will have at least 2-3 Mages who can supply us with the following stats listed here so we always have a Mage available for tanking.
================================================================================
HP: 7,000,000 (shared)
1000 Nature damage inflicted every 1 second for 4 seconds. Does not stack.
Finishing move that consumes the Deadly Poison on the target and deals 4,250 to 5,750 poison damage.
Same as the rogue ability. Lasts 30 seconds.
Hurls a magical bolt at the enemy inflicting 12,950 to 15,050 arcane damage. 2 Second casting time. Targets highest on his threat list (the Mage tank).
Calls down a pillar of flame anywhere in the room, burning all enemies in a selected area of 10y radius for 4,625 to 5,375 fire damage and an additional 2,806 to 3,194 every 2 seconds for 12 seconds.
Calls down a blizzard anywhere in the room that lasts 12 seconds, inflicting 4,375 to 5,625 frost damage every 2 seconds to all enemies in a selected area of 10 yards radius. This ability moves around, so be sure to stay out of the way.
A self buff that reduces magic damage taken by up to 75% and healing by up to 500 (needs to be stolen by the Mage tank).
When someone goes within 5 yards range of the boss he will cast an Arcane Explosion dealing a very high amount of damage (over 8,000).
Stuns an enemy for 6 seconds, targets a random raid member within range. This has a 10-40 yard range.
A self buff which gives Gathios a chance to deal additional holy damage equal to 70% of his normal weapon damage. Lasts 30 seconds. Judging this Seal deals 6,175 to 6,825 holy damage, which can be Spell Reflected (and this is crucial to the encounter).
A self buff which gives Gathios ability +800 holy damage for each of his attack. Lasts 30 seconds. Judging this Seal deals 10800 total holy damage over 9 secs. shares cooldown with Seal of Command. Unlike Judgement of Command this ability can not be spell reflected.
Deals 2,250 every 3 seconds for 21 seconds in a 10 yard radius from Gathios. Used roughly every 30 seconds.
The target becomes immune to magical damage for 15 seconds. It can be cast on any of the other 3 bosses, however 90% of the time it is cast on Lady Malande.
The target becomes immune to physical damage for 15 seconds. It can be cast on any of the other 3 bosses, however 90% of the time it is cast on Lady Malande.
Increases the resistance of all 4 bosses to all schools of magic by 250 for 30 seconds. 1 minute cooldown.
Gives 20% additional armour to all 4 bosses for 30 seconds. 1 minute cooldown.
Inflicts 5,463 to 6,037 holy damage. 2 Second casting time. It has infinite range, can be used on anyone in the room and is cast roughly every 30 seconds.
Consumes an enemy in flames, burning it for 5,000 holy damage and an additional 2,500 fire damage every 2 seconds over 8 seconds. Can be cast on any raid member inside the room. Should be interrupted.
Shielded against physical and magical damage, absorbing a maximum of 25,000 damage. Half of the damage absorbed is reflected back to the attacker. While the shield holds, spells will not be interrupted by physical attacks. Lasts for 20 seconds or until removed.
Heals all 4 members of the Illidari Council for 95.000-105.000. 2.5 Second casting time, 20 second cooldown. Should be interrupted.
Every add has their own tactic on how to deal with them, below you will find how each add will be pulled to their respective tank and how we will be dealing with the abilities.
Flamestrike, Consecrate (melee), Blizzard, Empowered Smite, Divine Wrath, and Envenom will all be done at seemingly random intervals and need to be healed through and moved away from whenever this applies. This is also why it is advised to have around 11,000HP buffed up, make sure to pay attention to your surroundings and this shouldn't be much of a problem though.
The Pull
The OT picks him up himself, he can be tanked roughly in the middle of the stairs, but downstairs (the stairs cause LoS issues, we want to avoid this). Make sure to keep around 15y distance from any other boss tanked there (Lady Malande).
The Abilities
His doesn't hit hard and this OT does not need much healing, what does need healing are his two abilities, Deadly Poison and Evenom. These two abilties can be used on any random raid member and need to be healed through, having a dedicated healer for just Deadly Poison and Evenom is not a bad idea.
The Pull
The Mage tank fire's a spell (at least 35y range otherwise it will be a body pull), as soon as it lands the Mage tank casts Spellsteal to get Dampen Magic, Arcane Bolts will be coming fast. High Nethermancer Zerevor is tanked rougly on the postion where he starts, the Mage tank will be downstairs while High Nethermancer Zerevor will still be upstairs. It is a good idea to BoP the Mage tank as soon as the first spell lands, this will make sure the other 3 Council members won't zerg the Mage and kill him / her.
- An alternative is to run in and as soon as Spellsteal is in range you press it once to make it a Spellsteal-pull.
The Abilities
The only important thing to do for the Mage on this add is to Spellsteal his Dampen Magic buff when he recasts it on himself, he casts it every 1 minute, the debuff lasts 2 minutes but we want to have that debuff off of him as soon as possible.
Next to that it is important for the Mage tank to go full out on threat, healer aggro is very high here and when you run OOM this can be a problem, make sure to have clicked off your BoS and make sure you maximise threat. Having a Shadow Priest in the Mage tank group helps a lot.His Flamestrike and Blizzard ability need to be healed through if anyone is unlucky to get hit by it. Both abilities have a 10y area they damage in so make sure to step out when you can. It can be cast on any random raid member.
- It is important that noone comes in melee range of this guy, his Arcane Explosion will most likely kill you
The Pull
Misdirected onto the MT. Gathios the Shatterer will be tanked roughly on the right side of the room down the stairs.
The Abilities
To start with he does Consecration every now and then, all melee DPS should run out of this as it hits quite hard, the tank can stay stationary. Other then that he does crazy damage on the MT in spikes, so the MT needs massive healing, think about 3-4 MT Healers.
For the tank it is important to Spell Reflect every Seal of Command back at him, the damage done by this ability is quite harmful and we want to prevent it as much as possible, next to that it gives a nice threatboost (not visible on Omen).Theoretically he keeps buffing the other 3 bosses with Blessing of Spell Warding (immune to magical attacks) and Blessing of Protection (immune to physical attacks), in practice he usually seems to target Lady Malande with these abilities. He uses the shields seperately and never at the same time.
- Chromatic Resistance Aura (+250 resistance to all schools) and Devotion Aura (+20% armour) are applied on all bosses every now and then. There is not much we can do about it, just take it into account when doing your thing.
- His Hammer of Judgement is just a slight annoyance and nothing more.
The Pull
Misdirected onto the OT. Lady Malande will be tanked down the stairs roughly where Veras Darkshadow is tanked as well, but make sure they are around 15y apart. This will allow healers to crossheal and help each other out when needed.
The Abilities
Ok, so this is the particlar tricky add to handle due to all the interrupts. We need 2 physical interrupts (Kick, Pummel etcetera) and 2 magical interrupts (Felhunter, Earthshock, Counterspell etcetera).
Gathios the Shatterer will cast Blessing of Protection (immune to physical attacks) and Blessing of Spell Warding (immune to magical attacks) on Lady Malande quite often, hence preventing interrupts from that school on her when she is casting Circle of Healing. We want to have all Circle of Healing spells interrupted as it heals all 4 adds for a 100,000HP (400,000HP since it is shared).
Whenever Blessing of Protection is up the magical interrupt is used, whenever Blessing of Spell Warding is up the physical interrupt is used. If it isn't enough her Reflective Shield stops any physical interrupts, so whenever that is up as well, magical interrupts need to be used. Make sure you have some vocal people doing this or at least coordinating this, if we get this under control it's a kill
If you have a Warrior OT, a Rogue and a Mage on her this should be enough for all interrupts, stack more Rogues/Mages if you want to be sure (or a Shaman with Earthshock).
- Empowered Smite and Divine Wrath need to be healed through, nothing more we can do about it. Some suggest to interrupt the Divine Wrath as well since the damage is quite big, if we have enough interrupters for this then I would do so.
Right, so we've got all adds under control, they are in position and everything. Now what? We deal with the abilities, for those who have special duties like healing, tanking interrupting. Anyone else is supposed to go all out on DPS on Gathios the Shatterer. He is stationary and won't have any of the shields on him, ideal for nuking
