Mother Shahraz requires the entire raid to be in full Shadow Resistance (SR) gear, the cap lies at 365 SR which we can reach if we want to. What we need for that is all 6 gear pieces, a Rank 2 Prayer of Shadow Protection and one SR enchanted item, the cloak.
This bring us to a total of 385 SR, it is important everyone has enchanted their Cloak with the +15 SR Enchant. Now it is not completely needed to get to the SR cap of 365 so there are other ways to get quite high without the leggings we are talking about, since the Guild Bank has not yet enough materials for this we might go see Mother Shahraz without a full set of SR gear for everyone. If we remove the legs from the equation that brings us to a total of 313 SR. So what are the other options?
Ok, so we don't have our leggings and are sitting there with 313 SR, we added the 8 SR to our boots and we dusted of our hold head piece and equipped it with 20 SR. We now have 341 SR without our leggings, which is quite enough to have some serious attempts at Mother Shahraz, even if people do not have an old headpiece or the 8 SR from the Shadow Armor Kit, 313 SR will be sufficient to have some serious attempts.
However, I advice everyone to get as close to the SR cap of 365 as you can, whether this is through enchants, using old head pieces or shoulders or by wearing one or two green SR rings. So until the Guild Bank can provide all of us with our leggings I want to see everyone doing their best (without nerfing themselves too much of course) to get to that SR cap of 365 SR.
Health - 4,500,000 HP
Melee Strength - 6-7k per hit
Enrage - 10 minutes
A melee range 9 second silence (hence this fight is not really suitable for Paladin tanks).
Constantly throughout the fight, Mother Shahraz is going to shoot 1 of 4 different Beams at a random player. Each beam "chains" to a total of any 10 players, and most of them do Shadow Damage. She will shoot 1 type of beam 3 times in a row and then switch to another type of beam. They are as follows:
Deals 2000 Shadow Damage and does a small knockback to affected targets. This knockback effect does not affect the 3 tanks.
Deals 6938 to 8062 Shadow Damage.
Applies a debuff causing 2500 Shadow Damage every 2 seconds for 8 seconds.
Drains 1000 mana from affected targets (not affected by SR).
Teleports 1-3 players to a random location, giving them a debuff called Fatal Attraction that deals 2500 shadow damage per tick to all players in a 25 yard radius every second for a total of 30 seconds. The debuff itself is not dispellable or removable, but Iceblock and Divine Shield make you immune to the damage component. The debuff disappears as soon as all of the players with it are 25 yards away from each other.
Separation is the key to winning the encounter. If you stay close to each other for more than 5-10 seconds, you and the people around you are going to die from the massive damage coming in. Avoid this!
Deals a base value of 76000 to 84000 physical damage spread out amongst everyone in 1-2 yards range from the target highest on aggro (MT). To survive this ability, you need to have your 3 tanks stacked on top of each other so that the Saber Lash affects them all and spreads out the damage evenly between them.
Every 15 seconds, Mother Shahraz will switch between each of her Prismatic Auras. The aura's are visible as a debuff on each player and affect all players in 99y range, which is the entire raid. Each Prismatic Aura reduces damage done by one spell school, while increasing the damage done by the "opposite" spell school. The auras are as follows:
Arcane damage done reduced by 25%
Nature damage done increased by 25%
Fire damage done reduced by 25%
Frost damage done increased by 25%
Frost damage done reduced by 25%
Fire damage done increased by 25%
Holy damage done reduced by 25%
Shadow damage done increased by 25%
Nature damage done reduced by 25%
Arcane damage done increased by 25%
Shadow damage done reduced by 25%
Holy damage done increased by 25%
Mother Shahraz will be positioned along the path in which she is pulled, with her head facing the direction she came from. Melee will position themselves behind her (roughly under her skirt) while the MT and the two OT's will be standing at her front.
The ranged DPS and healers will be grouped up in one big hug spot behind the melee, try and stay at max. range (30y for SP's so around there). We will position her more to the left / right of the path, this allows for even more teleporting room, the groups will be standing on the edge of the carpets you see on the ground. It doesn't really matter where we stand (not too far or she resets) as long as the tank can turn her around, melee can come in from behind and ranged can stay at 30y or so.
This also makes healing hell of a lot easier, since Shamans chain heal can zoom through the entire hug spot pretty much on their own, making healing very effective. Same goes for the Priests.
Next to that the 3 people with Fatal Attraction should be able to spread apart 25y from each other, don't forget while running that as long as you are not spread apart 25y you will be damaging anyone within a 15y radius so try and avoid hitting people if at all possible.
A fight could not be simpler in execution as this, specially when we are all SR capped, or at least very close to it. Yes, this is a healing intensive fight, but with a lot of SR this should be doable with around 8-9 healers (9 when learning most likely). All beams basically need to be healed through, the aura's need to be dealth with accordingly (e.g. watch aggro etcetera). Basically there are only a few important things to remember for people:
Saber Lash
It is important that the 3 tanks stand right on top of eachother or otherwise Saber Lash will not be split and will one-shot the MT. The range is only 1-2y apart so when I say on top of each other I mean on top of each other.
Fatal Attraction
If we get this under control fast it means we've got a kill, other than this ability there is nothing too difficult about the fight. It is important that every knows to spread and where to run to. It is always random so we rely on your own intelligence to find a suitable spot away from people and away from your 0-2 partners.
It is possible for Fatal Attraction to only target 1-2 people (because the 2nd / 3rd resists it through SR gear), this makes it a lot easier to deal with. If it is just 1 person getting it, that person can just stay where they are / move back to their position.
In general this fight is a relatively low DPS fight, most of it is stationary except for the Fatal Attraction factor. Staying alive is more important than being able to full nuke, as a 10min enrage timer gives us plenty of time to get this baby down fast.
