Quick Fight Notes
NEVER dispell the abomination in this fight
Any add in this fight has top priority to be killed
Never stand in Slime Puddles
Green oozes, Volatile Ooze, root their target in place, stay as far as possible to increase their travelling distance. When they are about to reach their target, hug the target to devide the total damage between the people who got hit, instead of 1 shotting the ooze's target
Orange oozes, Gas Cloud, do not root their targets, kite these through the raid so they can nuke it. Never let these hit you as it damages the whole raid for ~20k damage and likely kill a lot of people
The Professor will be tanked in the section close to the table, ranged dps/healers never go there
Phase transitions at 80% and 35%. Make sure you only Dps the boss close to these numbers when the raid leader says so. The boss will use Tear Gas to indicate the phase transitions
After 80% the boss will drop Choking Gas Bomb underneath him every once in a while. Never get close to these
After 80% the boss will throw Malleable Goo at a ranged person. Move away from the location where they're being thrown at. Watch out for these flying through the air, as they are the main raid killer here
At 35%, phase 3, wait for the boss to get to the tank, pop all cooldowns and heroism to burn the boss down - be aware of Choking Gas Bomb and Malleable Goo which will still be cast
Tanks communicate and taunt when needed to equally spread the debuff the boss does in phase 3. This debuff inflicts damage to the whole raid, and the damage increases exponentially, so try to keep the stacks low on all tanks. When a tank dies with this debuff, the boss heals for 1.7 million health per stack. Tanks are not allowed to die else it will be called a wipe.
Healers are very busy to heal the raid damage in phase 3, so help them out by using Healthstones/Potions/Defensive cooldowns in the last 10%
Brief Tactic
This is a tricky fight and a lot of things can go wrong. The abomination which will be used by one of the tanks, should never be dispelled as it helps the raid. The abomination's task is to eat the slime puddles on the ground to increase the moving space in P1 and P2. When eating slime, they gain energy to use to slow the green and orange oozes which spawn during the fight. Ranged Dps attack, from maximum range, any oozes the second they spawn. Melee Dps wait for the ooze to pick a target (indicated by a big orange or green beam) and zerg the ooze as soon as it has a target. Healers should stand all the way at the opposit side's wall to increase the travelling distance.
After 80%, phase 2, the boss will cast 2 abilities which cause the most problems in this fight. Dodge both of them as much as you can and stay alive. Continue Dps on the boss when the oozes are dead, and listen to the raid leader when nearing 40%. The perfect phase transition is when the ooze spawns, the boss is at 36% and hits 35% within seconds of the previous ooze dying. To help this happening, get the boss close to the add when it's about to hit 35-36% and the raid leader calls for phase transition.
At 35% phase 3 begins and it starts a Dps race. About 5-10 seconds in P3 we pop heroism and all cooldowns to burn the boss down. Tanks make sure to spread the debuff equally and never let it drop off or die. Avoid Slime Puddles, Malleable Goo and Choking Gas Bombs and you got a kill.
Heroic Ability's
The heroic version of this boss is one of the hardest. The boss gains Vile Gas which makes it needed for the ranged to spread out 11 yards. Instead of phase transitions of Tear Gas, the boss will spawn 2 oozes, each of a colour instead. All stay on the left side of the room to increase the green ooze travelling time. The person with the orange ooze on him/her will have to kite it while the raid focusses on nuking the green add down first. Spreading and hugging is key here, to reduce the damage from the green ooze's AoE. On top of these new abilities, all adds and boss do more damage and have more health.
Known Wipe Reasons
Main raid killer: random deaths during the fight because of Malleable Goo hits. Avoid them at all costs!
People getting hit by orange ooze - this wipes the raid, so don't get hit!
People standing too close to the spawn location of green oozes making it harder to hug them and reduces the Dps time on the add
Too low Dps on the oozes. Nuke them as hard as you can as these have top priority to die fast
Tank deaths in P3. This heals the boss and means a wipe and should never happen
